The studio was started by award-winning filmmaker Jacob Arango as a way to blend creative direction with real, unscripted life. What started as a few freelance gigs and student films quickly evolved into a full-service production studio, trusted by couples, artists, and brands across Texas and beyond.

Capturing the world through a lens has been a lifelong passion for award-winning filmmaker Jacob Arango. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in film, Jacob started TobyCat Films to bring cinematic quality to real moments.

With over six years of experience as a freelance videographer, Jacob brings a personalized filmmaking approach to every project, so you can relive your memories countless times.
​
And yes: the name comes from his tabby cat, Toby, who’s been quietly supervising edits from behind the monitor since day one.
